Reversals, Refunds and Disputes
A card payment can come back: the client requests a refund or opens a dispute with their bank. In these cases SalesControl updates the installment accordingly and recovers commissions already paid from the member’s later payouts, without touching anything behind the scenes.
This feature is available on the Professional plan and above. If you don’t see it in the app, check your plan in Subscription Plans.
The installment becomes “Reversed”
When Stripe signals that a payment has been refunded or disputed, the corresponding installment gets the “Reversed” badge, with the reason shown (refund, funds withdrawn due to a dispute, dispute lost). The installment stays visible but is excluded from the collection totals, so the figures stay correct.
You’ll see the “Reversed” badge among Collected Payments; hovering over the badge shows the reversal reason.
If a commission had already been paid
If a commission had already been paid on the reversed installment, SalesControl doesn’t cancel it behind the scenes: it turns it into a recovery, one for each paid member. You’ll find it under Commissions › Bonus to Pay, in the To recover group, with a negative amount and the reason “Instalment reversed”.
The recovery offsets itself: the next commission or bonus you mark as paid to that member covers the debt first, and the confirmation message tells you the net to pay out. If the member gave the money back some other way, or you write off the debt, use Mark recovered. Learn more in Paying Bonuses and Historical View.
If the funds are reinstated
If a dispute is resolved in your favor and the funds are reinstated, SalesControl undoes the reversal automatically: the installment counts as collected again and re-enters the totals. A commission recovery that is still open and not yet covered disappears. You don’t have to redo anything by hand.
