Sending a Contract for Signature

A contract is sent from the contact’s record: the Contracts card, Send contract button. You pick the template, check the terms, look at the preview and send. The signer gets an email with a personal link.

Plan required

This feature is available on the Professional plan and above. If you don’t see it in the app, check your plan in Subscription Plans.

Permission required

The button is visible to whoever has “Can send contracts” (admins always). You also need the agency signature uploaded under Settings › General › Contracts, and at least one template linked to a service.

The four starting points

From whereWhat differs
A lead’s recordThe Contracts card sits under the lead’s details. On signature the lead becomes a client.
A client’s recordThe Contracts card sits in the right-hand column. Use it for upsells and renewals.
The Google Meet barWith the Chrome extension installed and connected (version 1.3.1 or later), a Send contract button appears in the controls bar — hover it and the tooltip spells it out: “Send contract with SalesControl”. It is there even when the bot is recording the call. It looks up the contact of the call and opens SalesControl straight on their record with the dialog open. If it cannot find a single match, it lets you pick in the overlay.
The Renewals pageIn Expiring, Expired and on planned restarts. The dialog arrives pre-filled (see below).

The three steps of the dialog

At the top you see the steps: 1. Template and signer · 2. The contract · 3. Preview and send. The “The contract” step only appears if the template is marked “Editable when sending” and you have permission to edit it: otherwise there are two steps.

Step 1 — Template and signer

Step 2 — The contract

Here you see the sheet and can adjust the text for this client only. With the Update the template too tick the changes also stay on the template (that needs the templates permission). If you move or change the text, check the boxes again: the warning reminds you.

Step 3 — Preview and send

This is the real PDF, the one the client receives. Check it and click Send. If something is wrong — an image that does not load, text falling past the last page — sending stays blocked and the message says what to fix.

Price and payment type

It depends on the template:

If the service has no price

With the payment choice in the template, a service with neither a monthly nor an upfront price blocks the send: “The service has neither a monthly nor an upfront price: set one on the Services page before sending”.

Sending from Renewals: what comes pre-filled

Everything stays editable. If you change the service, the prices restart from that service’s list price.

If the service has no template

The dialog says so — “No contract template is linked to the service ‘X’: pick another one, or link a template” — with a link to Manage templates. You can still pick another template: the service follows the template, so the contract will go out with that template’s service. Which services have a template is visible at a glance in the Contract templates column of the Services page.

What the signer receives

An email with the subject and text written on the template, in their language, carrying the personal signing link. The link is valid for 30 days. In the Contracts card the row shows as Sent with its expiry date.

The name in the “From:” field is decided by the template: it can be the agency’s, as always, or the name of whoever is sending the contract — in which case, if you resend it with “Send again”, the sender becomes yours. Replies still reach whoever sent it. The choice is made on the template, in the Sending email section.

Resending and cancelling

Both work while the contract is still signable. If the client has signed meanwhile, or the link has expired, you are told instead of the action pretending to succeed.
